Probate and Trusts

At Bright & Sons Solicitors we deal with trust and probate matters from the very small to the very complex. We offer a sympathetic and efficient service to those who are responsible with dealing with the estate of a deceased person.

Our probate solicitors can assist clients in Essex, London and throughout the UK, and provide sound practical legal advice, clear fees and no surprises on all aspects of administering an estate whether the deceased left a will or not.

Our probate and trust department can deal with estates of all sizes, and we do not charge a percentage of the estate value as part of our fees.

At Bright & Sons we understand that bereavement is a difficult and stressful time, which is why our experienced and approachable team of probate solicitors will be able to help you with settling the deceased’s affairs.

We specialise in dealing with savings, investments, property, the family home, business assets, farm land, caravan sites, family and other trust/ settlement arrangements and green assets. Our solicitors are able to deal with estates under and over the Inheritance Tax threshold and offer a flexible service where you can instruct us to do as much or as little as you require.

Our fixed fee for obtaining a grant of probate on estates under the inheritance tax limit is:

  • Bright & Sons fixed fee: £700 +VAT
  • Probate court fee (add 50p for every sealed copy required) : £155.00
  • Commissioner’s fee on you swearing the probate application (per executor): £7.00

We offer home visits. All our offices have disabled access and free car parking.
